Stanford has the most fucked up, scary ass mascot ever.

I've already done a post on college mascots, but I had to do one just on Stanford. This tree has so many different versions, and has been photographed at so many frightening/unflattering/terrifying angles, it warrants its own post.

If there are any Stanford alums reading this...I'm sorry. Stanford is a wonderful educational institution with a proud history, but the mascot costume is just terrible. A tree, in and of itself, could be fun. But mascots are supposed to fall in one of three categories:

1) Cute

2) Historic

3) Tough

Unfortunately, your tree looks like a local cable TV show prop that went through an industrial size garbage disposal. Really. It's bad.
